We inspect the support structure for signs of deterioration or damage, replacing any timbers that we consider too far gone. On top of the joists, we lay a roof deck comprising thick and sturdy OSB boards, sufficient to take the weight of the fibreglass resin, plus any expected foot traffic on the roof.
The fibreglass is applied in layers as liquid treatments. We attach edge trims to the end of your flat roof to prevent run off, before pouring in a fibreglass resin, followed by a scratch mat and a laminate layer. Each section has to dry before the next can be applied, which makes this process longer than simply sticking down an EPDM rubber sheet.
The final layer is another layer of fibreglass resin, only this one includes a curing agent that speeds up the hardening process as it dries. The finished product is hard to the touch, scratch- and scuff- resistant, highly durable, and completely watertight.
